ARE WE TAKING GOD SERIOUSLY – OR CONVENIENTLY???

I will be doing a series on a couple of items over the next couple of weeks. We will look at the fundamentals of our relationship with God and Jesus.

The series will not be for the feint hearted. Gods Word is like a two edged sword. It cuts, it hurts and it heals. They will be done in Part form.

PREFACE
Our Heavenly Father is The God of All Creation, Including love, peace and humility. He is also the God who gives us the power of choice. The choice to accept or reject Him.
God says meditate on His Word. It’s important to always have a dictionary handy to grasp the power in God’s Spoken Word, as this helps bring clarity and understanding to the meaning. Some words have Greek and or Hebrew origin.
GODS WORD
We are not going to refer to the terminology “The Bible” in this message although we will refer to the Scriptures in The Bible. The English form of the Greek name Biblia, meaning “books,” and the word Bible came from man sometime around the 5th century. Furthermore the word Bible is not mentioned in “The Bible”
We are going to refer to “The Word of God or Gods Word “ in the present tense because, of course, it is. Joh_1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (KJV) (And of course it still is The Word of the living God)

WISDOM
We will also be looking at the two forms of Wisdom God mentions in James 3. Both are supernatural. We will look at how to discern God’s Guidance, not our own, or the devils.
One is earthly, encompassing the natural, soulish, rivalry, jealousy, tumult and every worthless practice and inspired by demons, full of every worthless practice. (James 3)
The other is pure, peaceable, gentle easy to be entreated, full of mercy, compassion and good fruits. (James 3)
Godly Wisdom is allowing God’s Word to take precedence over our subjective confidence, over our emotions, flesh, feelings, impressions and any other leading we have received. If our Revelation does not pass the test of God’s Word in James 3, we must reject it no matter how convinced we are, as it obviously not from God. (Choice??)

FALLING SHORT OF GODS GLORY
PART ONE - First The Questions…..PART TWO - Then The Answers
Can we handle it? Or will we find an excuse or try to be clever?
God gave us power, each the same measure, we even quote it sometimes, then we don’t use it. The urgency is in Gods Word for us to turn to Him with our problems, yet we tend to do that later.
God made us. We are His creation.

His Word is Life and it is alive, Jesus is alive, God is alive. He lives in us, why do we want to turn to man for guidance? The answers are coming, read on. Man has fallen since Adam and Eve. Why do we need a human crutch to make us feel better? Something not delt with?

Why do we make every excuse to justify our wisdom to talk to man first? Is that wisdom from God? Is that what God tells us to do? He gives us a serious warning in Psalm 1:1-6.

BRAGGING ABOUT GOD AND JESUS
Why do we stand on “street corners” (letting people know publicly, openly, at Church, at home, at work…wherever), quoting; I have made Jesus Lord of my life, I have this amazing relationship with Jesus and God, we have Jesus living in us, Hallelujah God id great, God will take care of this or that, God told me this or that, don’t’ worry God will sort my (or your, or our) problem out, don’t worry about it give it to the Lord, ask God, you need Jesus, make Jesus your saviour, turn to Jesus, trust God, oh I’m not worried, God is in control, And so on and and so on.

SUDDEN CHANGE IN PLAN
Suddenly a major problem occurs and we turn immediately to man, “I’ll call the Pastor “, or, “I’ll call the elder”, or “I’ll call my Christian brother”. Or,” I’ll go for Prayer”, or “I’ll ask someone to pray for me, for us, for you”, or, “I’ll get the Pastor to come and Pray over us, the situation, the house, or the business”.
Sound familiar? What happened to this Awesome God that lives in us? Has He suddenly abandoned us? (I think not.) This is the Living God we worship and boast of. Why is our confidence not in Him? He is alive and well!

A good example is when we have a relationship problem, we forget immediately what we already know God has told us. We run to everyone and tell them about our huge problem and what the person has done to us, trying to defile them and find justification (from people)

How can we make all these statements and run to people for justification? What must God be thinking? Why are we not sitting down and talking to God about this>
He makes it really clear and easy for us to understand, yet we will find an excuse to seek justification from man, regardless of God’s instruction.

 Coming soon....The Answers
