ADULTERY COMMITTED BY INTENTION 

It is known that adultery is first committed in the mind, then accepted in the heart. One does not have to commit physical adultery to be adulteress. 

God was rather serious about the wrongness of adultery. In fact, God said death is the consequence of adultery.

Wow! That's a serious warning to all of us. It is so easy for man or woman to find excuse when desiring someone else. How much do we love God if we cannot follow His instruction. How can we be such hypocrites by praising Him publicly then doing exactly what Jesus tells us not to do.  

Lev_20:10  And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. 

It is obvious by His terms that a marriage is seriously sacred. God needs people to make people so that they can be born for His ultimate plan. Marriage carries the same valuable mystery that Jesus has with His Church.

The problem is, we don't take Gods instruction as seriously as God expects us to. We fool others and ourselves, not God though. Our physical desires are given strong warning in the book of James and many other places in Gods Word. 

Jesus said:

Mat_5:28  But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

If we truly love God as we say, then it would be easier to follow His advice. Meditate on that for awhile and find the truth and power in the reality of it.
